I'm 15, can i wear contact lenses?

im short sighted.


i hate my glasses, so i want to get contact lenses. im 16 in july. am i too young?

Yes; you can wear/get contact lenses, and you are not too young. I was in the 7th grade when I got my contact lense for my right eye. (im 17 now and wear contacts in both of my eyes).%26lt;I use Acuvue Advance with hydraclear, and it costs me about 20 dollars for 1 box with 8 lenses%26gt;.

Reply:No my cousin is my age and I%26#039;m 11 and one girl got hers when she was in like 4th grade. They don%26#039;t complain at all about it hurting.

there is no age limit on contacts, but you just have to prove to your doctor and parents that you can take care of them.

Reply:Your never to young to get contacts, but you should go to a eye doctor first. That way you can see if they will work or hurt your eyes..... If you find you dont like the contacts, go and pic a pair (glasses) that you love and wont mind wearing!

The real question is if you%26#039;re mature enough to take good care of contacts so they don%26#039;t get infected because it%26#039;s easy to get an infection.


Waiting till your eyes are fully developed is better than getting contacts now so that oxygen can get to your developping eyes better.
